Empowering Change: Avent Diversity Consulting Wins $5,000 Small Business Grant

Avent Diversity Consulting (ADC) is proud to announce our recent win: a $5,000 small business grant awarded through a highly competitive program offered by the Richmond International Airport. This achievement reflects our unwavering commitment to excellence by fostering change and promoting IDEA (Inclusion, Diversity, Equity, and Accessibility) initiatives.

ADC's journey toward securing this grant commenced 18 weeks ago when we joined a transformative program offered by the Richmond International Airport for small businesses. This program provided a unique opportunity to refine our business strategies and create a compelling pitch that resonated with program stakeholders.

Twenty-five small businesses, representing diverse industries and each driven by a unique vision of excellence, embarked on this transformative journey. ADC secured a place among the final five finalists through unwavering dedication and hard work. Our CEO, Dr. Yolanda Avent-Roane, delivered a compelling business pitch that earned recognition from both program sponsors and the organization. On November 8th, Dr. Avent-Roane proudly accepted the $5,000 grant to acknowledge our efforts throughout the program.

Our achievement in this journey wouldn't have been possible without the generous support of our esteemed prize sponsors, including Enterprise, Delaware North, and W.M. Jordan. Their contributions were pivotal in recognizing and supporting our work in the program.

We take immense pride in this achievement and extend our heartfelt gratitude for the support and

mentorship that fueled our journey. This grant signifies more than just financial support; it represents the validation of our unwavering commitment to business excellence. With this grant, we are empowered to continue our transformative work, reach more organizations, and create a lasting impact on workplaces nationwide. Special thanks to our fellow small business student partners at POWER University, Yolonda Edmond, Angela Booker, Russ Peaden, Perry Miller, and Aimee Gagliardone, whose contributions and support have been invaluable on this journey.
